Navy Selects TranTech as SeaPort-e Prime Contractor
TranTech, Inc. was selected for a prime contract award on the Navy's SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e), multiple award contract in June 2006. SeaPort-e, a ten-year, Indefinite Delivery - Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) procurement, provides engineering, technical, and programmatic support services in seven geographic zones, for 22 functional areas.
The contract provides the Navy and Marines Corps a consistent and efficient procurement process for performance-based service acquisition, reduced cycle time, improved business intelligence, and increased buying power. The Navy estimates it will procure as much as $5.3 billion in services per year through SeaPort-e. TranTech's SeaPort-e team includes: SRA International, Inc.; Alcatel Government Solutions, Inc.; Ajilon Consulting; Texel*SPL; QualTech, Inc.; AIPS Engineering, Inc.; LunarLine, Inc.; Veterans Enterprise Technology Solutions (VETS); Salamatof Technology, LLC; BNF Technologies; and Idea Integration Corporation. The Team's focus is the National Capital; Mid-Atlantic; Gulf Coast; and Southwest geographic zones.
The TranTech Team's core services for SeaPort-e include: modeling; systems engineering; system design and development; software engineering; configuration management; quality assurance; IT support; information assurance; acquisition logistics; supply and provisioning; training, and administrative support. TranTech was selected because of its proven ability to deliver effective IT solutions to DoD customers within a demanding environment.
With this contract vehicle as a prime contractor, TranTech will expand its existing Navy and Marine Corps business to other commands and activities within the U.S. Navy.
